Dining experience

The focus of this introduction is on the well-known creative vegetarian cuisine “So Veg”. There are three branches in the northern region, and today’s visit is to the “Lehua Store”.

Every day on my way home, I see this restaurant, and it’s always bustling with customers. This time, I finally managed to secure a reservation.

Upon perusing the menu, I realized that it is an affiliated establishment of the renowned yogurt shop “SNOW FACTORY“.

Dishes

Pre-Meal Yogurt

Since it’s an affiliated establishment, it’s undoubtedly equipped with the most renowned yogurt. I must admit that their yogurt is indeed excellent, with a perfect consistency—neither too watery nor too thick. The addition of large berry chunks in the mulberry jam enhances its taste, making it truly enjoyable.

However, it’s a bit regrettable that they only provide a small spoonful, which can be considered more of an appetizer. Perhaps it’s a strategy to entice customers to make additional purchases.

Regarding the tomato soup, it meets expectations with a standard taste. As for the porcini velvet soup, it offers a rich flavor with a variety of ingredients.

However, the portion size is relatively small, approximately the size of a mug, which is a bit of a pity.

Linguine carbonara with roasted zizania

When it was served, the immediate conclusion was ‘so little in quantity.’ The portion size is indeed so small that even females might not feel satisfied. Setting aside the quantity, the taste is genuinely good.

The creamy hollandaise sauce is rich with a slightly thickened texture. The water bamboo and mushrooms offer a slightly charred fragrance, making it truly delicious. If the portion issue is addressed, I would definitely give this dish a full score.

🌶️🌶️🌶️Griddle cauliflower, chou dofu with vermicelli

Even before it was brought to the table, the enticing aroma of stinky tofu intermingled with the fragrance of peppercorns wafted through the air. Upon arrival, it truly lived up to my expectations. The stinky tofu exuded a strong aroma, and the peppercorns had thoroughly infused into the tofu and cauliflower. The taste was wonderfully pungent and numbing, making it incredibly appetizing.

For those who enjoy spicy dishes, I highly recommend this flavorful dish.

XO Sauce Taro Cake

This seems to be their new dish, featuring mainly enoki mushrooms, taro cake, and XO sauce stir-fried with a hint of Sichuan peppercorns to add an extra layer of flavor. The addition of Sichuan peppercorns enhances the dish without overpowering the aroma of the taro. The overall experience of the dish is truly rich.

However, what amazed me the most was their taro cake. According to the staff, it is handmade, and you can genuinely feel its firm texture and the rich aroma of taro. For those who enjoy taro and prefer a slightly bold flavor, this is a must-try.

Margherita Pizza

It’s a straightforward and classic Margherita pizza—thin and crispy crust, perfectly sized at 11 inches, just enough for sharing among four people.

Melting havarti BBQ mushroom burger

This dish was actually an additional order because the portion of noodles earlier was really small, and we weren’t quite satisfied. As a cheese enthusiast, seeing the overflowing cheese was truly delightful, and it tasted very fulfilling. The only downside was that the filling included mushrooms, which, when compared to the usual hamburger experience, created a slightly awkward sensation.

However, the portion size was still on the smaller side, and considering the price for this amount, the value for money is a bit low. If you’re a true burger enthusiast, I wouldn’t strongly recommend this.

Dessert:

For the final course, you can choose between their cheesecake or ice cream. I opted for their ice cream, which is quite unique. They offer a total of ten flavors, each incorporating their yogurt. Surprisingly, the combinations work really well. Some of them are soy milk-based ice creams, and they are exceptionally delicious. I ordered a soy milk ice cream, which retained the soy milk fragrance and had a rich texture. It was delightful, and I highly recommend choosing ice cream for dessert—you won’t be disappointed.


Conclusion

Overall, it is indeed a unique vegetarian restaurant with highly distinctive dishes that have challenged my preconceptions about traditional vegetarian cuisine. Apart from being uniquely flavorful, the variety of options is delicious as well. The restaurant environment is spacious and clean, providing a very comfortable dining experience. The only drawback is that some dishes have quite small portions, so individuals with a hearty appetite may need to consider this.
