Dining experience

🍶Xigui thick liquor TWD$200

With a history of over 3000 years, it is brewed using osmanthus flowers, yeast, and mixed grains for fermentation.

Intensely fermented flavor, slightly sweet, and not too strong in alcohol taste, making it a perfect choice as an appetizer drink.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Lamb Pao Mo TWD$240

When you visit a Shaanxi restaurant, a must-try dish is the “Pao Mo.” The server will initially bring you a whole piece of dry bread, and they’ll ask you to tear it into the desired size. Once you’ve torn it, you hand it back to the server, and they’ll bring you the freshly torn bread soaked in rich lamb soup, filled with plenty of lamb meat.

(Note: “Pao Mo” is a traditional Shaanxi dish where the bread is torn into pieces and served in lamb soup.)

🌶️Spicy and Sour Shredded Potatoes TWD$200

Dried chili combined with vinegar sauce is truly a perfect match, and when paired with crispy shredded potatoes, it becomes incredibly refreshing and appetizing.

⭐⭐⭐⭐Fish Fillet with Scallions and Peppers(Small) TWD$280

The fish fillet is first lightly fried until it forms a thin layer of crispiness. Then, it is stir-fried with chili, Sichuan peppercorns, and scallion pieces.

The dish is incredibly flavorful, and there is no fishy taste at all. Even those who are not accustomed to spicy food can give it a try.

⭐⭐⭐Grilled Pork Spare Ribs(Small) TWD$420

Despite its appearance of being dry, it is surprisingly delicious with a crispy exterior and tender inside.

The dish is enhanced with a rich and spicy flavor from the spices, making it a perfect complement to rice.

Coral Lamb TWD$320

(“Coral Lamb” is a dish in Chinese cuisine that features tender and flavorful lamb cooked with various spices and seasonings. The name “Coral Lamb” might be derived from the reddish color of the cooked lamb, resembling the vibrant hues of coral reefs.)

Diced lamb paired with a rich and spicy flavor, but unfortunately, the spices are a bit overpowering, overshadowing the delicate aroma of the lamb.

⭐⭐⭐Mongolian Fried Tofu – One portion for TWD$50

After eating greasy dishes, a dessert is a must to refresh the palate. And nothing fits the bill better than the Fried Cheese Tofu.

The tofu is wrapped in dough, deep-fried until golden, and then dusted with powdered sugar.

With just one bite, you’ll experience the crispy outer layer and the melted cheese oozing from within. It’s truly an exhilarating sensation that can only be described as “divine.”

Conclusion

Overall, the dishes are quite impressive. The spicy and tangy flavors of Shaanxi cuisine make it easy for one to keep eating mouthful after mouthful.

I will consider revisiting next time, and I will definitely make a reservation for the dishes in advance.
